Fixed Load Transformers
The Fixed Load Transformer is a very low kVA MV/LV device used in conjunction with Remote Terminal Units attached to switch or control gear. Its function is to charge the batteries necessary with such devices.
The transformer we offer is typically a two bushing primary, two bushing secondary 0.5kVA, 11,000/240-120V with the option of a fully insulated plug and socket secondary. These very compact sealed stainless steel devices are 260mm diameter, 680 mm high (including bushings) and weigh approximately 30kG. They are equipped with their own hanging bracket designed for pole mounting.
Customers have the choice of standard mineral oil or FR3 Natural Ester dielectric fluid. FR3 offers increased fire safety, biodegradeability, extended life and it is ecologically friendly. Cast Resin insulation is not utilised in this design. More than 5,000 such transformers have been installed in the U.K. in the last 12 years.
